Set Up My U-PASS
U-PASS is now available to students on iOS and Android devices. CheckMarq provides U-PASS codes to students for use with the Umo Mobility app. Follow the instructions below to retrieve and activate your U-PASS.
Access your U-PASS Benefit Code in CheckMarq
- Log in to CheckMarq.
- From the Student Home page, click or tap Profile, then U-PASS Code.
- On the U-PASS Code page, note your unique 8-character Benefit Code. Copy this code as you will enter it in the Umo Mobility app in the next steps.
Download and Install the Umo Mobility App
- Download Umo Mobility app from Google Play (Android device) or the App Store (iOS device).
- Follow the instructions and install the Umo Mobility app.
Set Up a Umo Mobility Account
- Open the Umo App.
- Tap Get started.
- The Umo App notifies you that it wants to know your location, to assist you with transit options in your area.
- Tap Allow Once – to allow the Umo App to determine your location initially
- Tap Allow While Using App – to allow the Umo App to always recognize your location while you’re using it
- Tap Don’t Allow – to block the Umo App from determining your location
- Tap Continue and make your location selection.
- Select Allow to get live updates and allow notifications for real-time transit alerts, service updates and more.
- Tap Set up now to set up your account to buy your transit fares and get moving.
- Enter your mobile number or register with your email or an existing Umo card instead.
- If you entered your mobile number, a 4-digit code is texted to you. Enter the 4-digit code and tap Continue.
Redeeming a Benefit Code
- Open the Umo Mobility app.
- Tap on the navigation menu.
- Tap Redeem Benefit.
- Tap Change Agency.
- Tap MCTS – Milwaukee Country Transit System.
- Enter the Benefit Code (8 characters) that was provided to you in CheckMarq.
- Tap Continue.
A pass is loaded into the WisGo wallet within the Umo app.
Riding the Bus with the Benefit Code
- Open the Umo Mobility app.
- Click on the WisGo wallet.
- Present the QR code of the pass to the validator on the bus.
