Copy and Send the Join Teams Meeting Link
A student or meeting attendee may have trouble finding Microsoft Teams join link for a meeting you created. Or you might need a guest speaker to join the Teams meeting. Learn how you can send the join link to someone who needs it.
Get the Join Link Before the Meeting
- Go to your calendar in Outlook on the Web Calendar, Microsoft Outlook calendar, or Microsoft Teams calendar. Note that the Teams calendar has the same event items as your Outlook Calendar. (If the Calendar icon does not appear in the left vertical toolbar of Teams, click or tap the More/three-dots menu icon and then select Calendar.)
- Browse to the meeting event item on your calendar, making sure it's the correct meeting.
-
Double-click to open the specific calendar event item for your online class session or meeting. If you single-click, a pop-up preview of the event may appear, and the preview may not show you what you need.
- Depending on the calendar you chose in Step 1, here are three ways to copy the link.
- On the event window, select the Copy link button.
- Or right-click (Windows) or control-click (Mac) the join link. A drop-down menu appears. Select Copy link.
- Or locate the link text — "Click here to join the meeting" or "Join the meeting now." Copy the link text.
- Paste the join meeting link into a message to the recipient.
Get the Join Link During the Meeting
- In Teams, from the meeting controls toolbar, click or tap the People icon.
- The Participants panel opens on the right side. Click or tap the Share invite button.
- An "Invite people to join you" prompt appears. Select the Copy meeting link button.
- The meeting join link copies to your device's clipboard.
- Paste the meeting join link into a message to the recipient.
