Installing Student_PrintWise for macOS
Students: Use the instructions below to install the Student_PrintWise driver on your macOS laptop or desktop. Please note you must use MU Secure Wi-Fi or VPN to complete these steps.
Reminder! You might not need to install a driver to print. See Easiest way to print: PrintWise@marquette.edu to learn more.
macOS: Installing PrintWise for Students
This software requires macOS Mojave 10.14.6 or later.
- Click this link to download the Student PrintWise Installation File.
- Open the Downloads folder. Look for the "Student Printwise Installer.dmg" file. Double click to open.
- Hold the CTRL key and click on Install Student PrintWise.command. Select the "Open" option from the resulting menu.
- Select "Open."
- Enter your computer password in the new window when prompted and then hit enter (No characters will be generated when typing, this is normal)
- A settings window will open after the installation is completed. (This may take a few minutes)
- In the upper portion of the window, select the printer labeled Student_PrintWise
- In the User Information tab, select Enter Name.
- In the Name field, enter your Marquette username.
- Click Save Settings and close the window.
- Click Done to close the printer settings.

When printing, select from the following presets.
Configuring Printer Settings
Follow these steps if presets do not appear.
- Navigate to a document or page you would like to print.

Hit "Command + P" on your keyboard to open the printing menu. Select "Student_PrintWise" from the list of available printers on the right.

Scroll to and click on "Printer Options."
- To print in Black & White, double click on "Quality" and change the selection for "Color Mode" to "Black and White." Click "OK" when done.
- To print single-sided sheets, double click on "Finishing" and change "Print Style" to "1-sided printing." Click "OK" when done.
- Navigate to the "Presets" setting at the top of the printing menu and click on the drop down menu to the right.
- Select "Save Current Settings as Preset."
- Change Preset Name (e.g. "BW 1" for single sided BW printing, "BW 2" for double sided BW printing)
- Once you print a job with a preset, it will become the new default next time you go to print.
