Students: Using PrintWise Multi-Function Devices

Device Log-In
Security Card Authentication
Place your identification card/security card through on the card reader located on the device.
- Place/Touch your identification card/security card over card reader located on the device.
NOTE: If you do not have your identification card/security card. You can unlock the device utilizing your Marquette University username and password. Follow the steps outlined below.
Active Directory Authentication
2. Tap the open User Name white box/field to open the keyboard.
3. The onscreen keyboard will appear. Enter your Marquette University username. Once entered, select the OK key.
4. Tap the open Password white box/field to open the keyboard.
5. The onscreen keyboard will appear. Enter your Marquette University password. Once entered, select the OK key.
Secure Print
The print jobs that you send to the Student_PrintWise printer will now be temporally stored in a print queue for 4 days until you release them at a Canon device. This prevents the need to shuffle through unclaimed printer jobs, provides secure printing of confidential documents, cuts down on waste, allows you to print out several documents throughout the day and retrieve them at your convenience, and provides you the ability to retrieve your print job at ANY available Canon device.
Submitting Print Jobs from your Computer
- Within the desired print application, click File > Print
- The Print dialog window will appear, ensure Student_PrintWise is selected as the printer.
NOTE: The default option is Black and White and Duplex. To change the settings, select Preferences.
4. The job will be saved within the Secure Print Queue to be released at one of the Canon Multifunctional devices.
Changing Print Preferences
When printing, if any of the changes need to be changed, within the Print dialog window, select Preferences.
A Printing Preferences dialog window will open. The Printing Preferences will allow the changing of any of the finishing options including: Paper Size, Output Size, Orientation, Color, Duplex, Booklet, Staple, and Hole Punch.
Retrieving your print job(s)
- Log into the Canon Multifunctional Device.
- Select Secure Print.
3. All of the jobs that you have held within your secure print queue will be displayed.
4. You can select jobs individually by touch the job name.
5. Once selected, tap the Print + Delete icon to print out the selected jobs. Once printed, the jobs will automatically purge from your print queue. If you would like to keep the jobs in the queue longer to print again, select Print + Keep to keep the job for 4 days.
NOTE: If you need to change the settings of the print job, select Options and change the necessary settings.
Scanning and Faxing
Scan to Myself
- Log in at the desired device.
- Select the Scan and Send button.
3. Select the appropriate scan location. If you are going to scan to your Outlook Inbox, select Send to Myself. Once destination selected, select OK.
4. If necessary, make any changes on how the Canon device should read or process your document. Selection areas are outlined within the screenshot below.
5. Place the document to be scanned into the document feeder or on the plated glass and press the Start button.
Scan to Another User
- Log in at the desired device.
- Select the Scan and Send button.

5. The onscreen keyboard will appear. Enter a portion of the recipient’s first name. Depending on the number of users in your environment, you may need to enter several characters to narrow the results. Once entered, select the OK key.
6. Select the recipient from the returned search results. Select OK.
7. To send to an email address or fax number select New Destintation
8. Select E-Mail
9. Then enter the destination email address or fax number and then press OK.
10. Then press OK to confirm the email address.
11. If necessary, make any changes on how the Canon device should read or process your document. Selection areas are outlined within the screenshot below.
12. Place the document to be scanned into the document feeder or on the plated glass and press the Start button.
Copying
Basic Copying
- Login at the desired device
- Select Copy
3. The copy function screen will be displayed
Double-Sided Copying
Duplex options available include singe-sided -> 2-sided, 2-sided -> 2-sided, 2-sided -> singe-sided and book copying. To access the available options, press the 2-sided icon
Staple or Hole Punch
Stapling options are found within the Finishing icon. Select Finishing, Staple + Collate and select Next. You can now select staple position.
If equipped, the Hole-Punch option is also located within the Finishing icon.
