Setting up VPN Access for iOS/iPadOS Devices

These instructions are for internal use only, not to be distributed outside of Marquette, and are available through the Help Desk only upon request.
Note: Ensure that your Duo two-factor authentication is set up prior to attempting to connect to the VPN.
Steps to Configure VPN on iOS/iPadOS
Step 1: Open Settings
- On your iOS/iPadOS device, open the Settings app.
Step 2: Access VPN Settings
- Navigate to General then select VPN & Device Management.
- Tap on VPN
- Tap on Add VPN Configuration.
Step 3: Enter VPN Configuration
- Choose Type and select IPSec.
- Enter the following details:
- Description: Marquette VPN
- Server: vpn.marquette.edu
- Account: (This is your Marquette username, such as “eagleg”)
- Password: (Leave this field empty, as it is safer to enter it manually each time)
- Use Certificate: Off
- Group Name: Marquette-IPSec
- Secret: 1881_MarquetteVPN
- Proxy: Off
Step 4: Save and Connect
- Tap Done to save the configuration.
- To connect, go back to Settings > VPN & Device Management, select the Marquette VPN profile, and toggle the switch to connect.
- You will be prompted to enter your Password.
- If you currently enrolled in Duo you will then have to approve a Duo Push on your mobile device.
Note: Each time you connect, you will be prompted to enter your Marquette account password and authenticate with Duo.
