If you do not have a smart phone you can register a phone number for SMS code or phone calls. Please do the following:
1. Log into your Marquette account by going to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/ and entering your credentials.
2. In the next screen, click “Security Info” located in the left-hand column.
3. The “Security Info” tab will now display each option you have registered for multi-factor authentication. Click “Add sign-in method.”
4. Click “Phone” in the prompt that appears.
5. Enter your phone number and select "Receive a code." Click Next.
6. You will be texted a 6 digit code via SMS. Enter that code into the prompt and click "Next."
7. Once you have linked a phone number to your account, you will want to change the method by which you will authenticate using multi-factor authentication. Please return to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/ and log in if you are not already logged in.
8. In the next screen, click “Security Info” located in the left-hand column.
9. The “Security Info” tab will now display each option you have registered for multi-factor authentication. Click “Change.”
A drop down will appear with multiple options for multi-factor authentication:
- Phone – Call (least secure)
- Phone – Text
10. Choose your preferred method. If you do not have a Smartphone, you can select Call or Text.
11. Click “Confirm.”
